Form 2290: Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax (HVUT) Form 2290 is due for annual renewal for Tax year 2017 – 2018. This Tax Form is always paid in advance i.e. for tax year 2017 – 2018 you file it in 2017 itself. Though you have time until the end of August to renew your Heavy vehicle use tax it is highly recommended that you E-file it right away through www.Tax2290.com , because if you have not renewed it yet, it means you are operating your vehicle with an Expired Schedule 1 copy. Your Federal excise tax form (HVUT) Form 2290 is due now and has to be reported to renew your Form 2290 and Schedule-1 for the tax year 2017-18. The Tax Year begins by July and the Form has to be renewed on or before August 31st.
