Form 2290 Highway Heavy Vehicle Use Tax

All truckers must file the highway heavy vehicle use tax for their heavy vehicles to operate their trucks on the public highways of the United States. And they must report their truck taxes using form 2290 to the IRS. Generally, the form 2290 truck taxes are paid in advance during the beginning of the tax season in July, and the tax period lasts till the end of the following June. Therefore, the new tax period for this tax year, 2022-2023, has started, and it is time to file your form 2290 to the IRS to continue your trucking operation. The deadline to report your truck taxes is August 31, 2022. So, all truckers must file form 2290 and get the IRS stamped schedule 1 receipt within the deadline.
