Choosing E-file for your HVUT Form 2290, this year.

The IRS Truck Tax returns reported on Form 2290 and Schedule-1 is up for renewal, has to be reported by August 31st. The new tax year for heavy vehicle use tax is around the corner and starts from July 1st, 2016 to June 30th 2017 and it is an Annual Tax. The Truckers and Truck Operators who own a heavy veTax22901truckhicle that weight 55,000 lbs or more has to report this 2290 truck taxes. This is the highway vehicle use tax paid to the IRS, by listing the vehicles VIN#.

If you want to rene
w/register your vehicle with the state authorities then you need to present Form 2290, Schedule-1 proof with the VIN# listed on it. This Schedule-1 proof is also required to renew your vehicle tags, insurance and license plates.

What is HUVT?
HVUT is the Heavy Vehicle Use Tax that is a fee assessed annually on heavy vehicles operating on public highways at registered gross weights equal to or exceeding 55,000 pounds. The gross taxable weight of a vehicle is determined by adding the unloaded weight of the motor vehicle and any trailers together with the maximum load customarily carried on-road by the truck-trailer combination.  Continue reading →

State DMV’s request for 2011-2012 Schedule 1 copy

Recently, some of our customers have been querying us that their state DMV’s are requesting them now to show a copy of their 2011-2012 schedule 1 copies for the registration renewal of their heavy vehicles and that they don’t possess it. They were further confused as to how DMV could have registered their vehicles for the period 2011-2012 when they didn’t have their schedule 1 copies in hand.
