Along with credit and satisfaction comes huge responsibility because the loads that they transit are not their property but they take complete ownership of the timely delivery and for the condition of the goods they carry on their heavy rigs.

Not only the goods they transit become their responsibility, but they have to take care of many things other than that as well. First comes the Vehicle itself, they have to maintain their vehicles and it should be in proper shape to hit the high ways. Decoding IRS Tax Jargon – “Suspended Vehicles”

TaxesIRS tax Jargon’s are pretty complicated to decode, today let’s throw some light on the term “SUSPENDED VEHICLES”.  Taxpayers mostly get confused with the term Suspended vehicle, reason is very simple as per their understanding they think it means any vehicle that they take out of service is defined as suspended vehicle. That’s absolutely incorrect. So what does it mean?…

SUSPENDED VEHICLE: As per the IRS the term Suspended vehicle means, vehicles that are suspended from taxes in other words tax exempt vehicles. Any heavy vehicle with a gross weight of 55,000 pounds or above needs a Form 2290 filed for it by its respective owner. IRS Efile Servers will be Shutdown in next Couple of Weeks!

imagesHoliday Season is right around the corner, so is the Year end. January 1st will be the first blank page of a 365-page book & December 31st will the last page of 366-page book. Let’s start writing good & positive things on the new book for which we have to complete old book without any back logs. Let’s carry only good memories & happy moments to the upcoming year, not the incomplete things we leave behind in 2016.

Taxes are one thing that we always want to complete on time as it adds Excruciating actions attached to it. There are several Taxes that needs to be filed on or before December 31st, One such Tax is Federal Excise tax Form 2290 (HVUT) for vehicles first used in the month of November. Though E-filing was introduced to lessen the burden for Tax Payers, every year the IRS will shut down their E-file Servers towards the end of the year for Maintenance. Heavy Vehicle Use Tax Form 2290 E-file

The Federal heavy vehicle use tax form 2290 is due now and up for renewal. Anyone who registers or renew tag on a heavy highway motor vehicle in their name with a taxable gross weight of 55,000 pounds or more must file Form 2290, Heavy Highway Vehicle Use Tax Return.

You must e-file your Form 2290 if you are filing for 25 or more vehicles, however IRS encourages e-filing for anyone required to file Form 2290 and to receive quick delivery of their watermarked Schedule 1 receipts. With e-file, you’ll get it almost immediately after IRS accepts your e-filed Form 2290. For vehicles first used on a public highway during July, file Form 2290 and pay the appropriate tax between July 1 and Aug. 31. The 2290 truck taxes need to be reported and paid in full by August 31st, to avoid late fee and penalties on missing deadlines. Continue reading
